We are happy to welcome Rachel Nicholl, owner of Boulevard Blush, into the building! Rachel is a passionate entrepreneur who took the step into business ownership after years of working in salons and spas. Now that Rachel is settled into her new space, we wanted to ask her a few questions about being a full-time entrepreneur. Take a look at what she had to say:
What is Boulevard Blush?
Boulevard Blush is my private studio where I offer skin care, waxing and makeup services.
What did you do before you opened Boulevard Blush?
I am a Licensed Esthetician who has been practicing in the St. Louis area for 10 years. Before I opened Boulevard Blush, I worked for several salons and spas in addition to freelancing as a makeup artist.
Why did you become an entrepreneur?
As a creative person, I always wanted to represent myself and my craft freely. I feel that being an entrepreneur has turned my job from a technical position into an art. The freedom to cater to my clients is key to my business.
What is your biggest challenge as an entrepreneur?
My biggest challenge is getting everything finished after a full day of seeing clients. When all I want to do is head home, I have to make myself sit down to return phone calls, keep financial records and set up my room for the next day.
What advice would you give a person contemplating becoming an entrepreneur?
If you want to represent yourself, it is important to focus on education so that you will be armed with all the resources you will need to tackle your business. Knowledge is power.
Why did you choose Centerco Office Suites to house your business?
Moving to Centerco Office Suites was an easy decision for me. The location, the client waiting areas and the price just couldn’t be beat! I also absolutely loved Tricia at the front desk and the availability of the gym. Finally, I so appreciate how quiet things are on the lower level. It’s a perfect setting to give and receive a quiet, relaxing service.
